CHEF Derrick Wcislak

With more than two decades of culinary experience and deep roots in Montana’s food scene, Chef Derrick Wcislak brings a thoughtful, ingredient-driven vision to The Raven and The Bonfire. A veteran of Michelin-starred kitchens in Chicago and former chef at some of Missoula’s most beloved restaurants, Derrick is known for his creative approach to local, seasonal fare and his passion for community-focused hospitality.

Since acquiring The Raven and The Bonfire in 2024, he’s embraced each space with care — honoring their legacies while infusing them with fresh energy, inspired menus, and a renewed focus on Montana’s rich agricultural offerings. At The Bonfire, Derrick’s “classy casual” menu centers on shared plates and ever-changing seasonal dishes, while The Raven continues to thrive as Woods Bay’s laid-back lakeside destination.

From in-house butchery and fermentation to sourcing from nearby farms, Chef Derrick’s approach is hands-on, intentional, and rooted in place.
