A Taste of Brazil, With a Tropical Twist: Meet the Coco Caipirinha

We love featuring spirits from our incredible local distillers, but this month’s Drink Special brings something exciting from a little farther afield. If you're looking for a drink that captures the essence of summer in a glass, look no further than our Coco Caipirinha—a refreshing, slightly unexpected take on a Brazilian classic.

Traditionally made with muddled lime, sugar, and Cachaça, the Caipirinha is Brazil’s national cocktail. At our bar, we’ve added a splash of Rum Haven Coconut Rum ( all natural, no artificial flavors, made with coconut water, and downright delicious) to bring a hint of the tropics and just the right amount of creamy sweetness to complement the bold, grassy character of the Cachaça.

So what exactly is Cachaça, and why should you be excited to see it behind our bar?

Often mistaken for rum, Cachaça is distilled from fresh sugar cane juice rather than molasses—the thick, dark byproduct of refined sugar. This distinction gives Cachaça a brighter, greener, more vegetal complexity, with earthy, floral, and slightly funky undertones that make it both unique and deeply refreshing.

In our Coco Caipirinha, we shake it all up over a large rock of our crystal clear ice to keep things crisp, cold, and just a little bit decadent.

It’s a cocktail that feels like sunshine—light, layered, and just exotic enough to whisk you away for a few sips. Come try one, and experience a little taste of Brazil—right here in the heart of Montana.
